When Chevrolet designed the 3rd Generation of their C/K pick-up truck in the early 70's they took an interesting approach to not only continue to build a durable work vehicle, a tool of sorts for ranchers, farmers and those who worked in the trades, but also a driver centered vehicle that would also make a comfortable daily driver. These pick-ups became very popular soon after their introduction because as intended, these trucks were more than just a tool for the family trade but a vehicle drove to the grocery or to church and used for other daily transportation needs. For many truck enthusiasts, this generation of GM truck is a great source of memories with many recalling helping their fathers maintain and repair these vintage pick-ups. They remember riding around in these square body trucks, (often seated in the bed with family and friends), running around the farm or into town for errands. Many youth who grew up with a truck in the family also learned to drive in these pick-ups. Not only were they a tool used during the day to help the family thrive, but at night for young drivers, it was a source of freedom they might cruise into town with or perhaps find a quiet place in the surrounding rural area to meet up with friends and drop the tailgate to sit with someone special. Garage Kept Motors is very pleased to offer this 1983 Chevrolet K10 pick up that features some very tasteful upgrades.

This pick-up has been cosmetically restored with a gray metallic finish with diamond plate rocker guards running the length between the wheel wells and painted body color. There are a few minor dents and imperfections that can be seen in the photos however the finish presents well with some of the stainless trim on the grille and tailgate treated to a blacked-out finish. The bed rail has been capped with metal diamond plated pieces for protection and the bed has been treated to a textured bedliner and is free of any rust through. The front and rear bumpers show signs of some light patina but shine with a nice luster. A set of 20 inch alloy Vision 375 Warrior wheels are wrapped with a set of Hankook 275/50R20 radial tires finish off the tasteful resto-mods on this truck and give it a slight lift.

Inside the interior of the truck, while the carpet, dash pad and door panels show some wear and tear, many other upgrades have been applied to clean up the interior. The seat upholstery has been recovered and a custom headliner has been installed. The headliner features overhead lighting and speakers directed at the driver and passenger. A Custom AutoSound Radio with AM/FM radio and AUX input for portable music devices plays the tunes through a high-powered amplifier and bass woofer system. This truck features a tilt steering column, cruise control, factory gauges with tachometer, air conditioning and dual fuel tanks.

Under the hood the factory carburetor 5.7 liter V8 has been replaced with a more modern fuel injected LT1 V8. The modern computer controlled powerplant has been professionally installed and features an upgraded custom air intake, LT-1 HP camshaft with Rhodes lifters along with Magnum roller rockers and Hedman tubular headers. This hot setup is kept cool with an aluminum radiator and electric fans. The engine compartment is clean and presents well. The power is transferred through a 5-speed manual transmission and manual selected transfer case.

Underneath the chassis and underbody has been lightly detailed in chassis black. The frame is free of any rust through, and the floorboards are also solid and clean. The rear brakes have been upgraded to disc brakes giving this truck four-wheel power disc braking as well as factory power steering. The exhaust flows through a custom dual exhaust system with H-pipe, dual catalytic converters and Flowmaster chamber style mufflers with tailpipes exiting out back with chrome tips. The truck has undergone extensive maintenance including a new clutch and tune-up documented by receipts included with the sale.

This is a very muscular looking truck with the powerplant to back up its rugged appearance. Please call if interested or e-mail with specific questions. Thanks for looking.
